Public Works Director Wesley Stokes has inspected the street to make sure it was constructed to the standards outlined in the town's new-street criteria. Now Signal Mountain will assume maintenance and responsibility for the road. A vote also was in favor of applying for a grant from the Rescue Fund grant program for the fire department. If it is received, the grant would be used to purchase new vehicle extrication equipment that is battery powered with no match required and no cost to the town. 4 Tennessee football players make SEC All-Freshman team

Appeals Court Reinstates 2 Convictions Against Former EMT Whaley In Wrong Way Traffic Death Case

The court reversed a decision by Criminal Court Judge Boyd Patterson granting "coram nobis relief" based on evidence that arose after the trial. Attorney Lee Davis had said the state failed to turn over an Internal Affairs report about a key state witness in the Whaley trial. He said Whaley should get a new trial.
